April 2012

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

April 5, 2012 Pastime Grill, Barnesville

6pm Meet & Greet. Meeting Begins Promptly at 7pm.

Patriotism is not a Spectator Sport!

Linda Sandwich has been a resident of Fayette County for 15 years. She grew up in Clayton County and married her husband of 26 years while in college.  She is a former math teacher, former homeschooler, mother of seven wonderful children, ages 22, 20, 19, 18, 12, 11 and 5.  Linda runs a business that was begun from the ground up with her husband, Dr. James Sandwich, Dermatologist. She has been active in her local GOP, various Tea Party groups, campaigns, and she is constantly trying to learn everything about history that she never learned in government (public) schools. She enjoys engaging people in politics and religion because she thinks they are the two most important things worth talking about.

Linda will be talking to us from her perspective as an active member of the Tea Party and will engage us in a thoughtful discussion on our need to be active, vocal and involved in our government from the local level all the way to national level politics. Linda says one of the most important things she has learned is that we cannot always go by what our conservative talking media or our legislators tell us. We have to read and understand legislation that affects our lives and be willing to communicate our convictions to our legislators in a manner that produces desired results.

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

March 1, 2012 Pastime Grill, Barnesville

6pm Meet & Greet. Meeting Begins Promptly at 7pm.

Agenda 21, The Next Chapter!

Now that we know what it is, What do we DO?

Our own Ryan Christopher is this month’s speaker.  He has a successful business and a passion for America! The American Constitution and the goals of our founders  are precious to Mr. Christopher as they are to all of us.

Agenda 21 has carefully crept into American lives without many of us even understanding it. We may have seen it mentioned in posts on social media such as Facebook and last month we heard a very good presentation on what it is. Tonight, Mr. Christopher will talk with us about what to do, now that we know what it is.

Every time we mention this movement, eyebrows raise and questions are plentiful. Mr. Bill Cherry informed us well about Agenda 21, but how do we translate this message to the people around us who may not care about the state of the nation? How do we translate this message even when we attend political meetings where it is not understood? There are practical ways to explain our plight without sounding as though we are going off the deep end. Tea Party members need to understand fundamental truths about the plan and how to stop each idea and proposal. Join us as we look at the fight, what it will entail, and whether or not this battle can be won.

February 2, 2012

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

February 2, 2012 Pastime Grill, Barnesville

6pm Meet & Greet. Meeting Begins Promptly at 7pm.

Just What Is Agenda 21?

William Cherry, our speaker, grew up in Texas and moved to Georgia in 1979 where he lived in Barnesville. He attended Texas Tech and Southern Methodist University and studied advanced traffic and transportation at SMU. He went on the staff of The John Birch Society in 1968 and presently represents the Society on the Development Staff in a 10 state area. Most of his family lives in Georgia. Mr. Cherry has a home in Texas and does a weekly interview on KWEL radio station out of Midland, Texas, discussing things such as immigration and border control, the economy and debt crisis, and current political situations.

We will learn how effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced…a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision making at every level.

We will see how Agenda 21 proposes a global regime that will monitor, oversee, and strictly regulate our planet’s oceans, lakes, streams, rivers, aquifers, sea beds, coastlands, wetlands, forests, jungles, grasslands, farmland, deserts, tundra, and mountains. It even has a whole section on regulating and “protecting” the atmosphere. It proposes plans for cities, towns, suburbs, villages, and rural areas. It envisions a global scheme for healthcare, education, nutrition, agriculture, labor, production, and consumption — in short, everything.

For more information and directions see our website at www.midgateaparty.org or call 678-588-1619 or 678-588-1618.

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

January 5, 2012 Pastime Grill, Barnesville

6pm Meet & Greet. Meeting Begins Promptly at 7pm.

T-SPLOST – Agenda 21 on the Move!

Transportation Projects are prioritized for T-SPLOST initiatives to be placed on the ballot in July 2012. That would be fine if the monies collected at home stayed at home. Instead, the tax will be levied over the 10 county Three Rivers Regional Commission district as well as possibly over the rest of the state of GA through Regional Commissions in other areas. In addition to Pike and Lamar, those counties in our Regional Commission area include Coweta, Carroll, Spalding, Troup, Heard, Upson, Butts and Meriwether. Even worse, it will be voted on district wide. NO county can opt out of this T-SPLOST

It is critical for us to be informed, vocal and assertive. We also need to form strong alliances with our counterparts from the other rural counties.
Otherwise, everyone here at home will be contributing to projects like an overpass in Newnan, a bypass in LaGrange or a commuter rail station in Griffin that will be of absolute no benefit to us.

You must have a say in how the money is spent, for you certainly will have none as to whether or not it will be plucked from your pocket.
Regardless of what the Transportation Investment Act (TIA) is called, it is the biggest single tax increase in the history of the state of Georgia. Our speaker for this month will outline problems with T-SPLOST! Mr. Kent Kingsley is well informed and well aware of problems associated with T-SPLOST!

Dr. Rowlett’s topic will be dealing with how a small group of dedicated people can change the world!  The importance of this topic might escape some; but I believe most of you will realize how important a topic this really is.

I hope you will all attend this special meeting and listen to our published guest speak.  Bring a guest with you and I will see you there!

November 3, 2011

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

November 3, 2011 Pastime Grill, Barnesville

6pm Meet & Greet. Meeting Begins Promptly at 7pm

Speaker - Ryan Christopher

Ryan grew up in Lamar County, Georgia. After graduating from high school, he attended both Georgia Southern University and Mercer University before starting a construction based business in masonry and concrete. He is a graduate of Covington Theological Seminary and is currently being ordained into the Congregational Methodist ministry.

He is married to Amy Christopher, formerly of Carrollton, whom he met at Mercer. After being locally elected in 2006 to the Lamar County School Board, Ryan chose not to run for a second term as he considered his next move. Ryan is a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and choir member at Rock Springs Church in Milner.

He has had the opportunity to speak before many civic groups, churches, and yes- political events. He has a strong desire to see the ordinary citizen become an extraordinary activist.

Our economy is in a tailspin, but wait…are we missing the issues underneath it all? Have we forgotten that there is a power hungry Congress ready to pass crippling legislation while we sleep? Let us not grow weary in our protection of freedom in this nation.

Join us for a quick discussion about dangerous laws that lay just around the corner. It will be an eye opening meeting about the direction of the global warming movement, and help us stop the lies of the government power movement.

The environment is important. There are many reasons to work hard to see our lands beautiful, our air clean and our waters free of garbage. This does not, however, entitle our government to invent crisis, and lie about scientific consensus behind the nonexistent phenomenon called global warming.

September 1, 2011

Wow, what a meeting! It was enlightening, fun, entertaining, and well worth our time for all who attended. We are still growing folks and I do hope that we add a few people everytime the liberals decide to call us names!!

Personally I came to better understand the Muslim community better. Not all who are Muslim in their faith are Islamists in their creed and that is good to know. I did not understand that there are 2 parts of the Quran, written in 2 different places and, although written by the same person, the focus of the first is much more peaceful and communicative than the second. The part written in Medina is where the Jihad and all the terrorist activity seems to come from.

I think, personally, I will distinguish Muslim faith (peaceful folks who are not involved in terrorist attacks) with Islamists (also Muslim but more fanatical and that DO subscribe to the Medina portion of the Quran).

Those of you who missed this important meeting missed a good one!

Next month Kent Kingsley will be our speaker and will talk about why you have to do your research on even "conservative" incumbents and what three policies we could adopt nationally that would transform America back to the country we all love and wish would return.

April 2011

What a great meeting we just had! Dr. Sandwich did a wonderful job of explaining Obamacare and its effect on us, the public, and on the physicians that care for us, and even on the insurance companies. He also talked with us on the need to stand strong as Patriotic Americans, to keep meeting, learning and working to insure that our men and women in office understand that they cannot forget us when they are elected. The same people who went to the polls are still out there, expecting them to keep promises they made in campaigns. We are looking forward to the May meeting and another speaker who is looking out for us!

Middle Georgia Tea Party Meeting

April 7, 2011

Pastime Grill, Barnesville

Dr. Sandwich is a Dermatologist practicing in Fayetteville and Griffin.

He has 7 children. His wife Linda is active with a number of political and tea party organizations.

He has gone to Washington to speak with Congress where he learned firsthand how they really don't care what you want unless they fear your ability to mobilize enough people who can vote them out of office.

He has spoken at a number of tea party events and healthcare forums on healthcare and its prognosis.  He will be speaking for us on April 7 on where we are as a nation and what we can do about it.  Dr. Sandwich is an avid student of the stock market and global business.  He is always looking at what's coming down the road.

March 2011

From the March 3, 2011 Meeting

Here’s a little report of our local Tea Party that has expanded to include surrounding counties. Tonight (March 3rd) we had more than 40, probably closer to 50 people there from all around our area.....Griffin to Warner Robins to Thomaston to Jackson.  We had a very good motivational speaker in TC Meuninck, who discussed some of the pertinent ideas that came out of the Tea Party Summit in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Tea Party Patriots said that it is time for us to move from the reactionary folks we have been to Proactive! This means communicating well with one another, holding our elected officials responsible for their positions. In campaigns they always talk about working for the people in their counties, districts, states, etc. but it always seems that elected officials tend to forget the voters once they are in office. Our job is simply to let them know we are with them when they do well and carefully watching at all times. If they work for the people who elected them, they may be re-elected but if they forget us, we will forget them when voting time comes along. When our politicians respect the people who they serve, then things will improve. It is our job to help them remember that we are watching and networking with one another and that we are a serious, ever growing block of the voting public.

The out-of-towners outnumbered the Barnesville people!  Please put the April meeting on your calendar....... April 7th at the Pastime Grill in Barnesville. We will have Dr. James T Sandwich who has addressed Congress. He will be speaking about where we are as a nation and what we can do about it. We also hope to attend a Constitution Preservation class to be held in April as well. See the links page on the www.midgateaparty.org website for more information and registration forms.

We are excited about our ability to change the direction of our country in the next election by working together as an issues-based organization. Rather than endorsing candidates for office, we feel that we will have more effect if we stick to our goals of helping ordinary citizens to reclaim America’s founding principles. We are a nation of laws, not of men, and we need to return to those principles of free men and women living under the banner of a country built upon the reasonable foundations found in our Constitution.

Please join us as we move into a more proactive effort in our communities in Middle Georgia. Be sure to visit the website at www.midgateaparty.org to keep up with our efforts. We can also be found on Freedom Connector and on Tea Party Patriots websites.
